After two years, you’d think I’d know a thing or two about Little Italy. But then, the other day, I realized that I’d never been during the day, only on evenings for dinner and/or drinks at one of its many restaurants or pubs (especially the very interesting Pub Italia).  But after a quick walk during the weekend, I now understand what gives Little Italy its festive charm. 43 – “Storm is a coming” in Little Italy as seen on Preston Street

Shot this photo yesterday right before the storm came through Ottawa! I was parked near Dow’s Lake and when I saw these clouds in my viewfinder, I quickly snapped these shots and ran down Preston Street to my car in order to beat the rain.  While I did run for naught, as the rain held off for a while, the last thing I would have wanted was to be stuck in the rain (unlike some people I know), especially considering my camera bag was not water proof! 42 – Sculpture as seen behind the Canadian War Museum

On a long walk with my girlfriend the other day, we happened to stumble upon these odd sculptures behind the Canadian War Museum.  After a quick photo shoot including the painstakingly difficult task of stuffing my girlfriend inside the sculpture (well almost), we discovered that these sculptures are part of a display dedicated to the history of logging on the Ottawa River.
