I have seen this school bus roaming around Centertown for almost two years now, but could never figure out what it was used for, that is until I saw the following scene unfold. While I never expected it to be used for picking up hotdog stands, it sure does the job well. Had that the hotdog stand loaded in less than two minutes. Pretty nifty! Sometimes I get asked: “where do I keep finding new ideas for photos after so many days? Doesn’t it become difficult to find a new interesting location around town? May I present to you Balancing by New Brunswick artist John Hopper. Another piece of Ottawa art that has to go on my not so official list of amazing things I never expected to find in this city. I always expect to find good old bronze statues, but a wood carved, brightly coloured piece, now that was unexpected! Read the story behind it and their flickr photos to really appreciate the work put into restoring this thing, it is actually pretty interesting. They pulled off the restauration work perfectly.
