I know it has been a while since I last posted to this blog. I decided to take a break after finishing my Ottawa Seen 365 Ways in 365 Days Photo Book project to focus on other things, both personal and professional. With spring and summer slowly coming back around, I have started to spend more time with my camera again, even taking time to upgrade my camera body before my next travel adventure to Jordan!
For those of you wondering, yes, I have totally redesigned the site and will post about it soon, as well as the new project I expect to begin come May. Stay tuned.
I was in Montreal on the weekend and was looking for a good opportunity to try out the new camera, so I decided to the Montreal Botanical Gardens to check out an exhibit I hadn’t seen in years, the famous Butterfly Exhibit.
I had been to the Butterfly Exhibit once before, during Montreal’s Nuit Blanche a couple of years ago, but did not get the chance to shoot all the amazing colours because most of the butterflies were motionless and sleeping.
This time around, I hope my photographs show quite the opposite. I never expected to see so much colour flying around a single room, it is was really an amazing feeling and also quite the challenge to shoot, as the butterflies were constantly in motion.
If you are ever in Montreal, trust me and take a little detour to the Olympic Stadium and the Botanical Gardens to check this exhibit out. There is nothing quite like it here in Ottawa.
Flowers, Flowers, Flowers
Did you really thing I would forget to take a short tour around the actual Botanical Gardens? Well I definitely didn’t. For those of you interested in beautiful and flowers and plants, there is plenty to see here. So don’t forget to take the time to walk around the entire building, it is beautiful!
