I remember when I arrived in Ottawa, only a couple of years ago, that I found the southern side of the Centretown part of Bank Street to be pretty dingy looking. It has taken me until now to realize how much that has changed. New condos, completely renovated blocks of businesses including the “new” Vistek, and a number of new restaurants and pubs have completely changed the face of this area. I have to say I am pretty impressed. Now if only this could happen to other areas of town…   [google_map address=’323′ coordinates=’45.410337,-75.692556′ zoom=’15’ height=’300px’]

Not just because there is a certain link to the Beatles in this image, but because this interesting piece of art decorates a safety wall around the construction site for a new condo building, a building which will be connected to the old Soeurs de la Visitation Convent located on the property. Pretty interesting concept I have to say, I really wonder what a large condo will look like attached to a Church. On that note, its Sunday, so enjoy your day! I know I will.   [google_map address=’308 – Yellow […]

I set out on a mission yesterday to find a building with the craziest accumulation of icicles I could find and this Church turned out to be it. I had originally wanted to take a photo of one of the old industrial buildings in Gatineau near Chaudière bridge that I had seen yesterday, but they had already closed the streets and cleared the ice because it had been deemed a significant safety hazard. After driving down Kent Street and around most Centertown, I realized that I’d be not only looking down at the road but up at the houses in […]
