I’m back! My first real vacation in nearly a year is over and life in Ottawa is beginning to return to normal. 58 – “Family Fishing Trip” on Bates Island as seen in the Middle of the Ottawa River

These kids were having a blast trying to fish. Don’t think they a clue what they were doing! The little guy ended up giving up while I was walking around and was having more fun with the rocks and I don’t blame him, I walked around the island for about twenty minute and didn’t see one person catch a fish.       [google_map address=’58’ coordinates=’45.408922,-75.754276′ zoom=’15’ height=’300px’]

After spending most of the last month in the downtown area and in New Edinburg, I decided it was time to venture out and explore something new.  While my first photo walk in Westboro/Hintonburg was not the most fruitful of photographic experiences, I did discovered an amazing piece of Ottawa history and art, the beautiful natural rock sculptures at Remic Rapids created by John Felice Ceprano. If you have never been, you should definitely check it out as you probably won’t ever see anything like it anywhere else. It’s truly an incredible sight.
