After reading about Ottawa’s latest memorial, the Canadian Firefighters Memorial, which was unveiled on the weekend, I decided I would go check it out. While the statue is pretty impressive, I was a little surprised to see how many names were on this etched into the adjacent wall. As with any memorial remembering the names of the fallen, it is definitely something worth checking out.   [google_map address=’68’ coordinates=’45.417266,-75.713215′ zoom=’15’ height=’300px’]

Today’s photo is of none other than Oscar Peterson, the Canadian Jazz Legend.  His biography speaks for itself so I won’t bother with a history lesson. But if you don’t know him, I definitely recommend you check him out. [google_map address=’66’ coordinates=’45.422627,-75.693903′ zoom=’15’ height=’300px’]
