Discovered this Monument thanks to a really knowledgable server at Mill Street Brew Pub the other day. Had never heard about the Royal Canadian Navy Monument before and was convinced it did not exist, but as promised by the waitress it was exactly where she said it was. I just hadn’t been down there since it was erected in May, 2012. Sure fits in with the scenery, don’t you think?       [google_map address=’236 – The Royal Canadian Navy Monument as seen on Richmond Landing’ coordinates=’45.42101,-75.710257′ zoom=’15’ height=’300px’]

The Supreme Court of Canada has to be hands down one of my top 10 favorite buildings in Ottawa. Another photo with fall colours. This one shot on Victoria Island, a place with one of the most incredible views of Parliament, the Supreme Court and the Ottawa River. The eastern end of the island, where this totem pole was captured, is also home to the Aboriginal Experiences, Canada’s only urban aboriginal experience. Can’t say I know much about it, but it may be something worth checking out. Something I’ll have to investigate another time!
